Bespoke Wooden Entrance Doors for Malta and Sicily
Give your home a distinctive entrance in real wood. Milito Infissi creates bespoke wooden entrance doors in our family workshop in Giarratana, Sicily, for homes in Malta, Gozo and across Sicily. Choose a classic panelled design, a contemporary front door or an entrance with glazing, shaped around your property.
From the first drawing to the final finish, you deal directly with the people who make your door. First-choice solid wood, careful hand finishing and details chosen together give your entrance its own character.

A wooden front door designed around your home
The right entrance starts with the building and the way you live. A contemporary villa may call for broad horizontal panels and a long pull handle; a traditional home may suit raised panels, a painted finish and brass fittings. We make the design to measure, so you can choose more than a standard size and colour.
Proportions and opening details made to fit
We discuss single or double leaves, equal or unequal widths, the direction of opening and the space available inside. Door thickness, frame details, threshold, seals and fitting arrangements are considered with the chosen design and exposure. The result is an entrance planned as a complete assembly.

Classic doors and arched entrances with Sicilian character
For a masseria or stone country house around Ragusa and Syracuse, the entrance begins with the original opening and its proportions. Simple timber panels, shaped mouldings where appropriate, and carefully chosen fittings help the new door belong to the rural facade. We develop the design around the stonework and details of your particular property. Our Sicilian woodworking tradition informs doors for houses of character, farmhouses and historic properties, with the proportions of the original opening guiding the design.
Shape the entrance around the architecture
We make shaped frames, arched door designs and rectangular leaves beneath a separate arched fanlight. Send photographs and drawings so we can plan the appropriate arrangement. For a restoration, share any design requirements agreed with your architect; you can also explore our heritage joinery approach.

Bring daylight into your entrance
A sidelight beside the door or a fanlight above it can bring daylight into a hallway while retaining the presence of a solid timber entrance. Choose the balance between opaque panels and glass, with glazing options for privacy and safety specified around the project. The glass, frame and locking arrangement are considered together.

First-choice solid wood and your chosen finish
We work exclusively with first-choice solid wood. Options include Okoumé, oak, chestnut and Accoya®, selected around the door design, chosen finish and position. You can keep the grain visible with a timber finish or choose a painted colour to suit your stonework, render and interior.
Consider both sides of your front door
Your entrance is part of the room as well as the street. We discuss how the inside face, panel layout, handle and frame will sit with the interior, while the outside belongs to the facade. Natural timber tones, a white painted finish or a stronger colour can each give the design a different character.
Four-coat Long Protection finishing
Careful hand preparation and sanding come before our four-coat, water-based Long Protection finishing cycle. We shape and finish the timber details with the same attention as the main door, then explain the care appropriate to your materials and exposure.

Handles, mouldings and security chosen together
Mouldings and fittings that belong together
A shaped timber profile, the line of the frame and the finish of a handle all influence the entrance. Choose from the fittings suited to your design, from brass knobs and ring knockers to contemporary pull handles. We consider their position and use alongside the mouldings and closing details.

Multi-point locking and a considered specification
We can specify multi-point locking, protected European-profile cylinders and reinforced hinges around the selected door. If glazing is included, its specification is part of the same discussion. Tell us your security priorities so the construction, hardware, glazing and fixings can be defined in the written proposal.
Electronic access where it suits your project
Ask about compatible electronic opening options, including fingerprint access, a keypad or app-based control. These are selected with the locking system and installation requirements; the access method is agreed as part of your door specification.
Made in our Sicilian workshop
Three generations of woodworking experience are behind our work. In our Giarratana workshop, precision machining and careful hand finishing turn the agreed design into a door made for your home. Buying directly from Milito Infissi gives you a personal relationship with the manufacturer and factory-direct pricing.

Your written warranty and aftercare
Your entrance door is backed by our 10-year commercial warranty, with the applicable cover for your chosen timber, components and finish set out in writing. We explain the care requirements and exclusions before you order, so you have clear information about your purchase.
For homes in Malta, Gozo and Sicily
Whether you are renovating a house in Malta, planning a farmhouse entrance in Gozo or buying a home in Sicily, we can discuss your project in English using photographs, plans and your preferred style. Tell us the property location and exposure so the design and specification can be considered from the start.
Coordinate the entrance with the rest of your joinery
For a complete Sicilian country-house renovation, coordinate the entrance with wooden windows and French doors with Sicilian internal shutters. Timber tones, painted colours, panel details and hardware finishes can be considered across the project. External wooden shutters can also be included where they suit the building and the way each opening is used. We can coordinate colours, profiles and fittings across the project while choosing the right arrangement for each opening.
Delivery and fitting arrangements agreed for your project
We supply made-to-measure joinery to Malta and across Italy. For Gozo, include the full delivery address so we can discuss the arrangements. Packing, transport, site access and any installation service are set out in your proposal, with final dimensions agreed before manufacture.
Questions about bespoke wooden entrance doors
Can you make a front door to suit a period property?
Yes. We can work from photographs, drawings and the original opening to discuss panels, mouldings, proportions and fittings. Where heritage requirements apply, share the specification agreed with your architect so the design follows the project requirements.
Can I choose a modern door with a sidelight?
Yes. We can combine a contemporary wooden door with glazed sidelights or a fanlight, subject to the opening and design. The position, size, privacy and safety specification of the glazing are agreed with the door.
What determines the price of a bespoke wooden front door?
The quotation depends on dimensions, timber, leaf arrangement, panel or arch design, glazing, finish and hardware. Electronic access, delivery and any installation service are also specified. Send approximate sizes and photographs to start a proposal.
Can I order from Malta for a home in Sicily?
Yes. Tell us where the property is and share your plans or photographs. We can discuss the project in English and agree the design, measurement and delivery arrangements directly with you and, where involved, your architect.
How should I care for my wooden entrance door?
Follow the care instructions supplied for the selected timber, finish and hardware. Keep the surfaces clean and check the coating, seals and operation periodically. We explain the attention appropriate to the door and its exposure, including coastal positions.
